Jesus Loves the Kids

Jesse (my 14 year old) and I were sitting around talking about God stuff, and Jesse said how it was sad that some people had never heard about God, and then they died and went to hell. He said that they never really got a chance to accept God because no one ever told them. I asked him if he thought it was unfair. He said, “Sort of,”  in his non-committal teenage way. We talked for a while longer about all of that.

And then He said something that blew me away. He said that our American-type of Christianity was kind of like getting the chicken pox vaccine.  He went on to explain that when you get the chicken pox vaccine, they give you a small dose of chicken pox so that you will be immune to the disease.  He said that this is what we kind of do with Jesus. We get a little bit of Jesus on Sunday mornings. And we become immune to Him too.
