I had these ideas and pictures of what I was going to do here in Nashville. But God knows best, and He knows how to use Jeff and me best. And sometimes, I make these plans, big plans, and it seems God has other plans. His plans don’t allow me to build myself or my ego up but rather to let go and let Him lead.

So what I’m doing is learning to trust God and learning to love Him. And along with learning to love Him, trying to learn how to love my neighbor as well. I think that’s what it means to really love God. And who is my neighbor? The people beside me, around me, anyone I come into contact with, anyone God directs me to.

So, right now, I’m going to listen to God. Each day. Moment by moment. And that’s enough for now.

Psalm 46:10 describes best what I’m to do, and I like how Richard Rohr really gets to the heart of the matter:

Be still and know that I am God.

Be still and know that I AM.

Be still and know.

Be still.

Be.
